Learn How To Cold Call
In the world of business, you must take some leaps and bounds when you are trying to really expand your business. One of the way you can do this is by learning how to cold call. This is a marketing technique where you call a list of phone numbers and give a sales pitch over the phone. However, you should not just start pitching the moment the phone is answered; you should instead attempt to strike a conversation that slowly introduces your product to reduce the chances of the person you called hanging up on you. If your potential customer hangs up on you, that's a lost sale that does you no good at all. Instead, you want to keep the person on the phone as long as possible and keep their interest. When you are able to keep the interest of the person you are talking to you are more likely to be able to really improve your bottom line. If you make the customer feel as if you are trying to understand their point of view they are more likely to view you in a positive light and enjoy your company and product a lot more.
As you are learning how to cold call you will likely become nervous at times and want to hang up. Instead, you should take a deep breath and relax. If you are nervous, it will show in your voice and the potential customer will pick up on it. You should have complete faith in your product you are selling in order to really be successful at the cold calling strategy. It is important to remember; just because someone is a master salesperson on the sales floor, doing face to face sales does not mean they are going to be perfect for cold calling. Many times sales people who do not do well with face to face sales excel at cold calls because they are able to talk more freely, and not worry about each and everything that the customer thinks. They are better able to focus on making the customer happy with the purchase rather than having a customer who has a horrible case of buyer's remorse. Cold calling is a skill that is learned and improved upon as you practice the conversations necessary in order to have a successful cold calling campaign. Remember though, that what works with one customer or even client may not sooth the next you speak to. The ability to learn how to cold call will not come over night, and probably will take a few weeks to really master before you are the cold call champion of your company. That is ok; you can slowly work magic and improve your skills and your paycheck over time. |
